Motivational Drawing for Beauty and Growth
Controversial Opinion: Drawing is the foundation of representational art. You can think of yourself as an artist by incorporating certain simple exercises and practices that will strengthen your drawings and turn them into art.
No matter your level of skill or confidence, you can learn drawing or improve your drawing and create something special using a piece of paper and a pencil. We will attack as many types of subject matter that we can in the two days we are together: Portrait, figure, landscape, still life, interiors, animals.
We will practice as many skills as we can in those two days: Upside down drawing, pure contour drawing, modified contour drawing, negative space and gesture.

This is a 2 day class from Oct 3-4, 2025 from 10AM - 4PM.

Judi Beauford grew up in Austin and began her career there teaching middle school English. Later she moved to a ranch in northern Burnet County. She was attracted to line and color from an early age, but she did not have the confidence to begin drawing or painting in earnest until she was an adult. She took a motivational drawing class that convinced her that drawing skills were related to success as an artist using any medium. She believes line drawing in pencil is it’s own art form and can make the artist hungry for other media. She also just loves the feel of a freshly sharpened Ticonderoga pencil sliding across a smooth piece of paper and finds that sensation simply delicious.
